Prediction time. With an extra week to prepare and heal up the more I think about it the more I think Lovington wins big. I'm taking the Cats 35-14.

Big win for the Wildcats last night. This should solidify a 1 seed for the playoffs. The Cats have not lost to a AAA team since the State Championship in 2008.

I still remember that HUGE brawl in '87 with Portales. That was one of the craziest things i have ever seen......... there was also that issue with them in basketball in '89, nasty stuff.

I think the rivalry with Portales was a lot worse back then. Doesn't seem to be as heated anymore. If I recall correctly '87 was the year one of our players was injured pretty bad. Talk about a team that overcame some serious adversity. For some reason I thought that basketball game was in '90 in Portales. I think it's the only game I've been to where it was actually stopped and not finished. One of the most physical games I had been to for sure.
