Silver comes into Lovington as the #2 ranked team in AAA. They are 10-1 with their only loss coming to a class 4A St. Pius team in the 2nd week of the season. They have two common opponents with Lovington in Hot Springs who they beat 51-13 and Robertson who they beat 41-21. From watching them their strengths are their size and speed. Brandon Reece is their go to guy and may be as fast as anyone Lovington has seen this year. It will take a strong defensive effort from Lovington to match up with the Colts speed. The last time Lovington and Silver met was in 1997 which the Colts won.

I think lovington can match them well. Silver has height on their d-line but there were times in that robertson game that they couldnt generate any pressure. Robertson o line handled them pretty well. I think lvt's o line is much better. It might come down to controlling the line in order to control the clock. Lovington's defense will be more aggressive than robertson's. It was a fake punt and fake field goal that made the difference for silver. Lovington wont get caught off guard. It's going to be a good game but the outcome will still be in lovington's favor.

Lovington is going to have to have their best game of the year to keep up with a Big and fast Silver City team. If Lovington can be up or tied going into the 4th qrter then they can hold the victory, if not it might be some troublesome to come back. Lovington needs to score first Saturday and play thier butts off and don't let Silver in the game. Key to the game is limit turnovers and stop them on Defense. Keep our offense fresh and Lovington can win this tough game. Go Cats!!!

Thoughts and prayers to Coach Q and his family.
My prediction is Lovington wins a hard hitting fast game 27-24. I think these two programs are the class of 3A and is probably the most exciting matchup of the year.

This was an outstanding performance by the defense. The weather elements affected both teams, silver had their chances. It was a complete team effort. One more game to go. These cats arent blowing opponents out but they get the job done. Good job Big Blue congratulations and do it one more time. (hope st mikes adds bleachers, they have a crappy field and very few spots to sit on. maybe the game can be played in santa fe high like in 03)

Great game yesterday. Defense really stepped up and showed why they should be considered one of the top d's in 3A. They held a Silver offense that came in averaging 38 pts per game scoreless. This team knows its strengths and plays well toward those. I thought the elements played to our advantage.
